Project Description: Campus student outreach and engagement efforts

What impact does your fellowship work have on your campus, your community, the state, or the world? Naftali aims to raise student awareness not only about UC Davis and system-wide efforts to reduce emissions, but also to build a more comprehensive understanding of climate issues as well as sustainable paths forward for future development and operations.

What is a recent success in your project? Naftali recently organized a celebration for large solar farm opening. He is also beginning planning efforts for more student focused commemoration event.

Why are you interested in the Carbon Neutrality Initiative? Naftali is deeply involved in the UC Davis campus and feel great pride about the strides we are making towards substantially reducing our carbon footprint. He wants to share information with other students and pushes campus leadership to embark on more climate change efforts.

What do you hope to do in the future using the tools you developed during the fellowship? Naftali hopes to work for an environmentally-focused government agency or non-profit to advance sustainability efforts. Within his career, Naftali wants to keep a focus on stewardship of natural and agricultural lands.
